Warehouse transfer posting

Post approved warehouse work and inspect matching outbound and inbound stock effects.

Step by step

  1. Select approved work Admin

Admin identifies the Approved transfer and checks its item, quantity, source warehouse and destination warehouse before invoking the posting action.

    • Confirm eligible authorized instruction
    • Updates Stock transfers
  2. Create the paired effects Admin

The approved-transfer action creates linked stock movements for the same item and quantity: Outbound at the source facility and Inbound at the destination.

    • Create matching Outbound and Inbound records
    • Updates Stock movements, Stock transfers
  3. Inspect the pair Admin

Admin compares each movement with the transfer instruction, including direction, warehouse and posting date. Identify an incomplete pair or mismatched quantity before accepting the result.

    • Verify item, quantity and facilities
    • Updates Stock movements, Inventory items, Warehouses
  4. Record the operating handoff Admin

Use the agreed completion procedure after inspecting the pair. If the response is uncertain, inspect existing effects and follow the supported recovery path before another posting attempt.

    • Accept complete evidence or investigate
    • Updates Stock transfers, Stock movements

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • One side accepted as the full transfer. Inspect both directions under the same transfer before concluding that its recorded effects are complete.
  • Matching amounts at the wrong facilities. Quantity equality alone is insufficient. The outbound warehouse must match the source and the inbound warehouse the destination.
  • Uncertain response repeated blindly. Check whether either posting already exists and use the agreed recovery handling to avoid duplicated movement history.
