Demand to accepted output

Rehearse demand intake, reviewed release and once-only receipt of accepted terminal output.

Step by step

  1. Review demand Production Planner

Production Planner checks the Approved sales-order record and positive sales-order line quantities before demand intake. Master schedule retains the product, warehouse and planning period. Replaying the same intake must not create more demand for that order.

    • Approved demand prepared once
    • Updates Sales orders, Sales order lines, Master schedule
  2. Review planning proposals Production Planner

Production Planner compares inventory with open supply and the bill requirements. Each planned order retains Work or Purchase proposals, need dates and pegged context; the MRP exception list assigns shortage review to its owner. Resolve the previous Proposed suggestion set before another planning publication.

    • Supply proposals and shortages reviewed
    • Updates Inventory, Planned orders, MRP exceptions
  3. Release the production order Production Planner

Production Planner selects the reviewed bill and route, then moves work orders from Planned to Released through the configured command. Work order components and work order operations must match those references. Release preparation is an operating action; it does not replace purchasing or quality approval.

    • Reviewed production context released
    • Updates Work orders, Work order components, Work order operations
  4. Execute assigned operations Operator or Shop Floor Supervisor

Shop Floor Supervisor assigns the employee and interval; Operator uses the verified execution route. Work-order operations progress through Pending and in progress, with on hold retained for restricted work. Production log records start time, end time and output quantities. Material issue requires available, unexpired stock of the correct product.

    • Attributed execution and material issue
    • Updates Work order operations, Production log, Stock movements
  5. Review required quality evidence Quality Inspector

Quality Inspector checks required inspection results and records the supported disposition before releasing affected held output. A completed terminal operation with an unresolved quality hold cannot become finished stock.

    • Quality disposition authorizes affected work
    • Updates Quality inspections, Inspection results, Quality holds
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  6. Receive accepted output Shop Floor Supervisor

Shop Floor Supervisor invokes the configured completion route for previously unreceived accepted terminal-operation output. Each stock movement records Completion and the work order's completed quantity follows the accepted effect. Repeating the same command must return the existing result without another receipt.

    • Accepted output received once
    • Updates Production log, Work orders, Stock movements

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Intermediate-operation quantity is received as finished output and then counted again at the terminal operation.
  • An issue ignores the lot expiry or allocated quantity when evaluating usable inventory.
  • A repeated demand intake creates more planning rows, or a repeated completion creates another stock receipt.
