Assembly and repacking
Teams that kit or repack stocked products can define component quantities, a named output and ordered operations. A released work order freezes its recipe and planned quantity. Operators record actual material issues, good output, scrap and labor evidence against that work.
How Printing & Packaging ERP is set up for you
Recipe basis
Agree on a product output quantity and the component units needed to make it.
Controlled release
Review the current bill of materials, routing and standard cost before work begins.
Measured completion
Record accepted terminal output and reconcile remaining work-in-progress cost.
Teams that kit or repack stocked products can define component quantities, a named output and ordered operations. A released work order freezes its recipe and planned quantity. Operators record actual material issues, good output, scrap and labor evidence against that work.
Start with one kit or repacked product whose component usage can be counted. Give the team a bounded planned quantity and assign an operator to each operation. Rehearse a partial issue and partial completion. Check that a repeated completion does not allocate the same cost source again, and that the unfinished quantity remains visible.
Link demand to a sales order line when the work is for a specific customer. Keep released work separate from a draft recipe change: the original work order must still explain what was actually made. Close only after the remaining variance has an accountable decision. [Follow the assembly process](/erp-for-printing-packaging/processes/assembly-to-output).
Before widening the scope, review the component quantity per output basis with the warehouse and finance teams. Test a returned material quantity as well as an issue. The work order should still show what was consumed, what was returned, and what remains to be completed.
