Shipyard supply teams
A shipyard supply office often needs a reliable answer about ordered materials, accepted arrivals and stock available for the next internal request. Start with the commercial and warehouse transactions the team already handles. Keep each legal entity's purchased stock and accounting separate even when the same physical warehouse serves more than one business.
How Shipbuilding ERP is set up for you
Supplier commitments
Purchasing Manager records the requested product, buying unit, destination warehouse, supplier price and original promise. Independent approval covers the full commitment before a supplier order is sent.
Receipt evidence
Warehouse Operator records what arrived. Warehouse Manager confirms the usable tranche, retaining rejected or pending quantity for resolution.
Material availability
The stock view distinguishes owned quantity, reservations and available quantity by product, location and lot. A request can claim eligible stock without pretending it has been issued.
Assembly supply
A bounded work order can consume stocked components into a kit or repacked output, with actual throughput and cost attached to the accepted completion.
Choose one legal entity, one warehouse, a small active product set and a supplier whose delivery can be followed through purchase, partial receipt and accepted stock. Include a product-specific buying unit and reviewed standard cost. Reconcile the first accepted receipt to its stock layer and receipt accrual. Then add a work order whose components can be traced from that accepted inventory.
The initial rehearsal should include a delayed supplier promise and one rejected quantity. Check that the original promise remains visible, the rejected portion stays outside usable stock and a bill matches only accepted receipt scope. When work consumes stock, compare its material issue, partial output and remaining WIP. This provides a usable materials and finance cycle before widening the product and warehouse population.
