Event response and maintenance

Acknowledge a disruption, authorize assigned work and review the actual recovery.

Step by step

  1. Acknowledge the event Energy Manager

Energy Manager records the site, event type and description, then moves the event from Open to Acknowledged. Preserve the actual operating start and end used for validation and the later recovery discussion.

    • Move Open to Acknowledged
    • Updates Operational events, Sites
  2. Review the response Energy Manager

Energy Manager authorizes the response after the acknowledged event and its actual interval have been validated. Resolve a rejected event's validation notes before treating it as a reliable basis for recovery review.

    • Review validation and authorize response
    • Updates Operational events
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  3. Authorize maintenance Maintenance Coordinator

Maintenance Coordinator describes the required site task, assigns Technician and confirms the due date. Approval moves the task from Open to Approved and gives the assigned person a clear action to carry out.

    • Move Open to Approved
    • Updates Maintenance tasks, People, Sites
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  4. Complete the assigned work Technician

Technician starts approved work, records it as in progress and supplies the actual completion date when finished. Maintenance Coordinator follows up if the due date arrives while the task remains unfinished.

    • Move Approved to in progress to Completed
    • Updates Maintenance tasks
  5. Review recovery Energy Manager

Energy Manager approves the recovery decision after checking the operating evidence and moves the acknowledged event to Resolved. Completed maintenance informs that discussion; the event receives its own review.

    • Move Acknowledged to Resolved after review
    • Updates Operational events
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A task description identifies the site but leaves the required action unclear. Clarify the action before authorization.
  • Someone completes the inspection and assumes the alarm has ended. Energy Manager checks the actual event recovery separately.
  • A task is assigned to the wrong person. Confirm the person's account mapping before testing My Maintenance.
