Retain the method behind the number

Ownership percentage, legal control and reporting-group membership serve different purposes. Effective relationship records retain the approved method and supporting workpaper. A division move may change management presentation while leaving the legal consolidation boundary unchanged.

Simple common-equity allocation uses its approved basis. Tiered holdings, acquisitions, changes of control and differing share rights need the configured specialist treatment. Do not infer a method transition from a percentage threshold alone. Preserve mid-period allocation evidence and reject overlapping effective intervals or a hierarchy cycle.

The selected run records the ownership and mapping versions used. A later acquisition update cannot rewrite a prior published close. It creates a future-period calculation or an authorised restatement, with old financial artifacts retained. The allocation effects and their offsets must reconcile rather than adding subsidiary equity for a second time.
