Multi-entity finance
Finance teams that manage several legal entities can keep a plan, forecast version and accounting period tied to the correct organization. The common references let a leader compare work without losing the owner of each record.
How Financial Planning & Analysis is set up for you
Entity plans
Keep the plan period, version and cost center lines with the organization that owns the spend.
Version ownership
Assign each forecast version to a team member and review its linked partner and driver.
Period desk
Inspect linked document value and count for each accounting period before advancing it.
Finance teams that manage several legal entities can keep a plan, forecast version and accounting period tied to the correct organization. The common references let a leader compare work without losing the owner of each record.
Start with one legal entity and its own period, plan and version references. FP&A Planner checks that every plan and forecast version points to the intended organization. Period Owner checks document dates and organization before counting them in the linked accounting period. Use distinct plan numbers and period numbers as the work expands to another entity.
For the rehearsal, Finance Leader reviews a plan in review for the first entity and inspects its cost center lines. The approval decision and operation result should refer back to that plan. Period Owner then reads the period’s linked document value and advances Draft to Validated, then Validated to Posted. Reviewer checks the receipts after each action.
Repeat the same lookup for the second entity before combining any comparisons. If a document or version points to the wrong organization, correct its source reference and recalculate the discussion from the affected records. Keep the two period owners and their evidence separate so the finance team can explain each entity’s result.
