Subscription and services finance
A team with subscription, support and service activity can define drivers using the units and bases that match its planning work. Forecast versions hold the amount and actual-to-date figure for a term, while plan lines show the cost center side.

A team with subscription, support and service activity can define drivers using the units and bases that match its planning work. Forecast versions hold the amount and actual-to-date figure for a term, while plan lines show the cost center side.
Define a Subscription driver and a Support Contract driver with the units, rates and default bases the team uses. Admin keeps their codes stable; FP&A Planner links each dated forecast version to the intended partner and organization. Compare forecast amount with actual to date on the same version, then inspect remaining balance for the term.
When a version is marked Hold, record a reason and ask Finance Leader to review it with its owner. A held version remains a recorded forecast state; the team should check the driver assumption and term before using it in a planning discussion. If the rate changes, compare the version reference and dates rather than assuming every version used the same rate.
For a related accounting document, Billing Operations checks any document lines linked to that driver or version. Collections Analyst inspects the receipt status and bank reference against the document balance. Agree the source of actual amounts and cash records before treating these links as reconciled financial results.
