Dispatch and delivery

Record pickup and delivery events while preserving the original promise.

Step by step

  1. Recheck the assignment Dispatcher

The Dispatcher reads driver eligibility, vehicle readiness and the committed interval before releasing a Planned load. Check for a conflicting driver or vehicle commitment and review relevant defect evidence. Resolve the issue before the guarded dispatch action is used.

    • Confirm resource readiness before release
    • Updates Load assignments, Drivers, Vehicles, Vehicle defects
  2. Dispatch load Dispatcher

At physical pickup, the Dispatcher records the actual pickup time, inspects the dispatch receipt and moves the load to Dispatched through the configured action. Keep the promised delivery time unchanged so later timing comparisons use the original commitment.

    • Record pickup and Planned to Dispatched
    • Updates Loads, Operation receipts
  3. Monitor movement Dispatcher

The Dispatcher follows the agreed transition into transit and records stop arrival and departure observations. Retain proof references against the intended stops. If the movement needs an operational decision, use the team's exception procedure and bring the relevant evidence to the supervisor.

    • Record in-transit observations and proof references
    • Updates Loads, Load stops, Record attachments
  4. Complete delivery Dispatcher

The Dispatcher records actual delivery with its supporting evidence and uses the completion action to move the in-transit load to Delivered. Inspect the complete-delivery receipt and compare the actual event with the retained delivery promise.

    • Record actual delivery and its completion result
    • Updates Loads, Load stops, Operation receipts, Record attachments

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A resource check performed during planning is treated as current at dispatch. Recheck eligibility and readiness before movement.
  • A later delivery estimate replaces the original promise. Keep the promised value intact when explaining a delay.
  • An uncertain completion result prompts another action without checking the load. Compare the local evidence and receipt first.
