Load and assignment preparation

Prepare the stop plan and check the resources before dispatch is committed.

Step by step

  1. Prepare load Dispatcher

The Dispatcher records the subject, operating organization and transport partner with an owner and promised delivery time. Check the equipment class and freight amount in USD. The configured creation procedure records the planning receipt and moves the load from Draft to Planned. App Administrator resolves directory or membership issues.

    • Create the owned load and record Draft to Planned
    • Updates Loads, Organizations, Transport partners, Team members, Operation receipts
  2. Arrange stops Dispatcher

The Dispatcher records the intended stop order, addresses and appointment windows against the load revision. Keep the pickup and delivery sequence readable to the next shift. Confirm the time zone used for the entered windows.

    • Record ordered stops for the intended revision
    • Updates Load stops, Loads
  3. Plan assignments Dispatcher

The Dispatcher prepares the driver and vehicle interval, reads eligibility and readiness, and compares other commitments for overlap. Move an eligible assignment from Held to Confirmed under the agreed procedure only after those checks support the plan.

    • Check resources and the committed interval
    • Updates Load assignments, Drivers, Vehicles, Vehicle defects
  4. Check the planning result Dispatcher

The Dispatcher inspects the planning receipt recorded when the load was created and confirms its current state. Repeat the resource checks before dispatch, since eligibility and readiness can change after preparation. Planned does not establish that those checks passed.

    • Inspect the creation receipt and current load state
    • Updates Loads, Operation receipts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A changed stop window remains attached to an earlier revision. Check the intended stop set before committing the assignment.
  • The same driver or vehicle has overlapping commitments. Resolve the interval conflict before confirming the plan.
  • A vehicle's recorded readiness changes after planning. Recheck it before movement is released.
