How a Construction GRC rollout works

Set up a controlled pilot from site inspection through independent retest.

  1. Set operating scope

Identify the organization, business units, active team members and construction sites for the pilot. Agree assessment periods and who owns them.

  2. Prepare controls

Record risks, likelihood and impact scales, active controls, effective dates and control owners. Select controls for the first assessment.

  3. Prepare access and evidence

Assign roles, check internal and shared attachment access, and agree evidence references, document classification and retention rules.

  4. Run a representative case

Record a site check, scope an assessment, execute a failed test, register a finding, submit a corrective action and complete an independent retest.

  5. Review exceptions

Try an oversized exception count, a pass without evidence, a finding from a passing test, an owner’s attempted self-retest and a repeated operation key. Confirm the refusal or preserved result.

  6. Expand with review

After owners accept the pilot records and reports, add more sites, business units and assessment periods.

What the customer provides

Provide the site naming rule, permit reference source, organization and business-unit roster, active people, risk scale, control list and evidence location. Name who may prepare tests, own corrections and independently retest. Bring one real failed case with its expected evidence and decision so the setup can be checked against normal work.

Changing it afterwards

Review role changes with the people who own each handoff. Keep earlier tests, findings and retests available when a control or process changes. For a revised assessment, confirm its revision before applying an update. If an external source changes, rehearse a failed or unknown response before treating the new connection as ready.
