How a GRC for Education and Universities rollout works

Set up a small assessment cycle and verify the owner and reviewer handoffs.

  1. Set ownership

Choose the first organization, business unit, risk owner, control owner, Assessment Owner and Independent Reviewer.

  2. Prepare records

Create the risk and active control, then scope an assessment with a subject, period and planned test lines.

  3. Run a case

Record a sample and evidence, register a failed or inconclusive result as a finding, and assign a dated corrective action.

  4. Review separately

Have an independent person record the review decision and retest. Reconcile any failed operation receipts before the Assessment Owner closes the engagement.

What the customer provides

Provide organization and unit names, the risk scale, control codes and descriptions, a first assessment period, policy references and the evidence access rule. Name the people who prepare, own and independently review the work. Choose a campus case with a known exception so the team can exercise the full handoff.

Changing it afterwards

Record a new assessment revision when scope changes, and keep decision history tied to the revision judged. Review retired controls before planning future tests. Update team membership and attachment visibility as responsibilities change. Use the data model to trace each link before importing another operating unit.
