Hospital groups
A hospital group can organize assurance by organization and business unit while retaining a separate assessment period for each engagement. The compliance team names a responsible assessment owner before selecting controls. A care review can then hold a facility name, privacy officer and access exception count for the relevant assessment.
How GRC for Healthcare and Hospitals is set up for you
Shared oversight
Compare assessment status, failed tests and open findings across operating units.
Local accountability
Keep the business unit and facility context with the people responsible for the work.
Independent review
Give the reviewer the submitted revision, evidence and reasoned decision.
A hospital group can organize assurance by organization and business unit while retaining a separate assessment period for each engagement. The compliance team names a responsible assessment owner before selecting controls. A care review can then hold a facility name, privacy officer and access exception count for the relevant assessment.
Start with one organization, a business unit and one facility-focused assessment. Register the relevant risk and control, test a sample, and carry one exception through a finding and independent retest.
Check the assessment owner and control owner before testing starts. A sample result should include its evidence reference and exception count; a failed result should lead to a described finding. The remediation owner prepares the correction and evidence. A different reviewer retests the finding. Where a care review is submitted, its reasoned decision belongs to that review revision. Compare these records in [the data model](/grc-for-healthcare-and-hospitals/data-model) and plan the pilot in [implementation](/grc-for-healthcare-and-hospitals/implementation).
For the next operating unit, carry forward the agreed control descriptions but create a new assessment with its own owner, period and test results. Compare like periods when discussing exception patterns. An unresolved finding should keep its action and retest history visible to the group reviewer. If an operation is marked Failed or needs review, investigate its receipt before repeating the action so a second request does not obscure the original outcome.
