Activity and follow-up

Record the buyer conversation and make the next action visible on the same opportunity.

Step by step

  1. Choose the open case Relationship Owner

Relationship Owner opens the opportunity whose buyer conversation needs a record and checks that it remains open.

    • New, Qualified, Proposal or Negotiation case selected
    • Updates Opportunities
  2. Log the activity Relationship Owner

The owner records a call, meeting, email or task against the opportunity at its current revision.

    • Activity type and parent recorded
    • Updates Relationship activities, Opportunities
  3. State the outcome Relationship Owner

The entry explains the buyer's decision, question or requested change. An empty outcome is refused.

    • Outcome saved at current revision
    • Updates Relationship activities
  4. Date the follow-up Relationship Owner

The owner sets a due date for the next action and completes the activity when that action is done.

    • Due and completion dates available
    • Updates Relationship activities
  5. Use it in review Sales Manager

Sales Manager reads the ordered history with the opportunity before assessing qualification, proposal or close.

    • Conversation evidence informs decision
    • Updates Relationship activities, Review decisions, Opportunities

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • An activity is filed against the wrong opportunity when a buyer has more than one live request.
  • A meeting is recorded without an outcome, leaving the reviewer to guess what changed.
  • A follow-up due date passes while the owner assumes another teammate will act.
  • Someone tries to add a new activity after the opportunity is already Won or Lost.
