Keys and references

Keep employee ID, position code, calendar code, course code and requisition number stable when importing. Use the reference fields rather than copying a person’s name into each transaction. A Timesheets row identifies the worker and week; its time entries hold dated hours. A pay statements row identifies the worker and payroll runs period; lines explain its amounts. Review the currency and entity on employees and calendars before preparing a run.

Migration order

  1. Load Departments, Locations, pay grades, job titles, Positions and payroll calendars.
  2. Load Employees with their position, manager and calendar references.
  3. Load leave types, benefit plans, Courses and performance cycles.
  4. Load historical employment history, leave balances and training records with their source dates.
  5. Load current Timesheets, leave requests, course enrollments, job requisitions and related work.
  6. Reconcile pay statements and payroll runs by period before adding current payroll activity.
