How a Retail Staff HRMS rollout works

Start with a representative store, shift and pay period, then extend the operating rules.

  1. Set the organization

Enter the organizations, store definitions, employee locations and payroll calendars that will be used in the pilot.

  2. Prepare people

Reconcile employee identifiers, positions, managers, hire dates and training records for the pilot store.

  3. Plan and work a shift

Create assignments, publish the roster and compare actual shift entries with the plan.

  4. Review decisions

Assign exceptions, attach evidence and record the people responsible for roster, leave, time and pay decisions.

  5. Close the period

Compare timesheets, leave requests, payroll runs and statements, then review the reports with the source records open.

What the customer provides

Bring a store code convention, a sample roster, employee and location data, course and training evidence, a payroll calendar and a completed pay period for reconciliation. Name the people who prepare the records and those who approve leave, time, roster and payroll. Identify the system of record for shift hours, learning completions, payment and tax filing confirmations.

Changing it afterwards

When a store or employee changes, update the relevant reference and review dated assignments that depend on it. A correction to worked time needs to be reconciled with its shift entry, timesheet and pay period. Keep the original assignment and evidence links visible so managers can explain the change at the next review.
