Keys and references
Employee ID identifies the worker. Employment history records dated changes and its Employee reference ties each event to the person. Candidate and Requisition references identify an application; an offer also refers to the candidate and position. Time entries belongs to Timesheets, while pay statements belongs to payroll runs and Employees. Check these references before migration so a returning person retains prior history.
Migration order
- Prepare departments, locations, job titles, pay grades, payroll calendars and positions.
- Load employees and their employment history after reconciling worker identities.
- Add candidates, requisitions, applications, interviews and offers with their references.
- Bring across leave, time, benefit, training, performance and pay records by dated period.
- Reconcile counts and representative employee histories with the source before use.
