Benefits and employee development

Run employee elections, review cycles and learning assignments as distinct recurring work.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the benefit plan CHRO / VP People

Authorized setup access supplies the benefit plan's country, employee class, dates and contribution rules. CHRO / VP People inspects the compensation effect. Ordinary Employee election access must not become permission to change the underlying plan.

    • Review configured plan inputs through authorized setup
    • Updates Benefit plans
  2. Approve compensation-affecting activation CHRO / VP People

CHRO / VP People approves a plan that has employer contribution rates before the plan is activated through the master-data workflow. Non-compensation plans may activate internally. The approval concerns the plan, rather than every valid employee election.

    • Decide the compensation-affecting plan gate
    • Updates Benefit plans
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  3. Validate the election Employee or Payroll Admin

Employee records an election through the configured self-service route. The enrollment workflow checks the plan window and new hire, open enrollment or qualifying life event context, computes contributions and advances Pending to Active. Payroll Admin reviews the active deduction; carrier acceptance remains a connected outcome.

    • Activate a valid election and inspect deduction
    • Updates Benefit enrollments, Benefit plans, Pay statements
  4. Open and work the review cycle HR Business Partner (HRBP) or Employee

HR Business Partner (HRBP) coordinates the performance cycle and the creation of needed goals and reviews. Employee and the assigned reviewer complete permitted contributions. Repeat cycle updates preserve the employee's existing review and goal assignments.

    • Create missing cycle work and collect contributions
    • Updates Performance cycles, Goals, Performance reviews
  5. Calibrate and release HR Business Partner

HR Business Partner (HRBP) follows submitted review work through In review and Calibration, then inspects Calibrated, Released and Acknowledged review states. Agree how submission, release and acknowledgment dates are recorded, then compare each date with its actual action during rehearsal.

    • Inspect calibrated, released and acknowledged work
    • Updates Performance cycles, Performance reviews
  6. Complete learning and inspect expiry L&D Admin

L&D Admin checks mandatory course enrollments assigned on hire and records completion evidence through the agreed route. Training records retain completion dates, expiration dates and certificate links. Failed assignments, expired evidence and revoked evidence remain distinct follow-up cases.

    • Follow assignments and retained evidence
    • Updates Courses, Course enrollments, Training records

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Agree which employee attributes establish eligibility for the plan's employee class.
  • Reconcile active enrollment with the carrier connection's confirmed response.
  • Compare existing assignments before and after a repeated cycle update.
  • Review status and completion or acknowledgment dates need separate checks.
