Task handoff

The process begins with a known employee and an agreed effective date. HR Business Partner owns the departure context. Payroll Admin reviews pay-period effects, while task assignees report the work they complete. Keep the handoff tied to the employee record so the next person can inspect it without reconstructing the case from messages.

Step by step

  1. Open exit checklist Admin

Admin opens the Offboarding checklist for the employee.

    • Create the handoff container
    • Updates Onboarding checklists
  2. Assign handoff tasks Admin

Admin links tasks to that checklist, with category, assignee and due date.

    • Make the work assignable
    • Updates Onboarding tasks
  3. Complete assigned tasks Admin

Employee or another assigned worker reports the outcome and evidence; Admin updates the task record.

    • Keep the task outcome
    • Updates Onboarding tasks
  4. Close departure Admin

HR Business Partner inspects pending, blocked and skipped work before Admin closes the checklist.

    • Confirm handoff completion
    • Updates Onboarding checklists, Onboarding tasks
