Managed service teams
A managed service team may receive signals from several monitoring providers while its operators work across supported services. Each signal needs a stable arrival record, and each actual disruption needs a separate incident with an assigned person. The team can then explain why a provider event was handled, rejected or investigated further without confusing receipt processing with service recovery.
How Incident Response Platform is set up for you
Provider intake
Keep external event identifiers, received times and handling status in Integration Receipts.
Named response
Assign each incident to a person and record the affected service and asset.
Coverage handoffs
Use On Call Shifts for scheduled responsibility and incident updates for work that crosses shifts.
Follow-up planning
Use Problems for recurring issues and Changes for planned remedies with risk and rollback details.
Choose a bounded group of services with known owners and a single monitoring provider. Reconcile a few source events against their receipts, including a rejected or failed arrival. Decide who investigates an exception and when the Service Manager opens an incident. Use the provider's event identifier when discussing a retry, so repeated delivery does not become several unrelated stories.
Run one incident through opening, acknowledgment, investigation and resolution. Have the assigned responder add action events and an update that the next shift can understand. During handoff, compare the rota with the incident's actual assigned person. If those differ, the manager should make a deliberate assignment decision.
A managed team should also decide how it describes service boundaries and owner responsibility. Service and asset records provide a common language for incidents, while request and change records preserve other kinds of work. The Service Manager can review priority, dates and statuses across services to spot work needing attention. Any external communication or paging arrangement should be agreed with the systems already used by the team.
