Wholesale distribution
Distributors often share stock across sales channels while the warehouse needs a clear answer about which request may proceed. Inventory Allocation Engine provides policy records, reviewed requests and bounded lot reservations for that conversation. Customer order management is a connection to set up with agreed source identifiers and follow-up responsibilities.
How Inventory Allocation Engine is set up for you
Explain channel decisions
Inventory Supervisor reads the channel policy, priority rank and safety-stock guidance before deciding demand. Agree how the clerk communicates the source channel and retain the rationale. The authorized quantity should explain how the team applied that guidance to the case.
Protect existing claims
Inventory Clerk inspects the selected lot and Held reservations before attempting another claim. Free eligible quantity excludes the stock already held, and an oversized reservation produces a failed operation result with its shortfall.
Resolve changed demand
Inventory Supervisor corrects or cancels authorized scope through the workflow, releasing held quantities. Posted effects are inspected separately and use compensation when required, preserving the original stock evidence.
Explain the outcome
Auditor follows the request's review decision and operation receipts. A physical load state gives context; completion verification still compares the actual posted movement total with authorized quantity.

Pilot a shared item range at a storage location with demand that competes for the same lot. Include a policy choice that reserves a buffer through supervisor review, a failed claim and a canceled request. Reconcile opening stock before enabling posting, and agree how existing customer-order identifiers will reach the clerk's case evidence.
Test the actual reservation and review actions, including repeated commands and stale revisions. Ask the clerk to explain the free lot quantity after each held claim and ask the supervisor to explain the authorized scope. Expand after the team can follow the effect of each correction and identify who owns the next action.
