Correct scope and reverse an effect

Changed demand and a wrong posted effect need different operational actions. The supervisor first identifies what was authorized, what remains held and what already changed the lot balance. The case evidence should explain which supported path resolves the discrepancy.

Step by step

  1. Inspect current scope Inventory Supervisor

Inventory Supervisor opens stock requests, linked stock reservations and stock movements. Compare requested units with the physical evidence and operation results. Retain the earlier decision rationale before deciding the correction.

    • Identify demand and effective stock work
    • Updates Stock requests, Stock reservations, Stock movements
  2. Correct scope Inventory Supervisor

Inventory Supervisor authorizes the quantity correction or cancellation through the supported workflow. Held reservations are released so their free inventory is restored. An approved cancellation can move the request to Cancelled; it does not establish that a posted effect has been reversed.

    • Correct or cancel authority and release holds
    • Updates Stock requests, Stock reservations

  3. Reverse posted effect Inventory Supervisor

Inventory Supervisor runs the reversal workflow when the original posted movement needs compensation. The workflow posts a compensating stock movement, corrects the lot balance and keeps the original immutable. The compensation retains its original movement reference; repeat calls return the existing compensation.

    • Apply a linked compensation once
    • Updates Stock movements, Stock lots
  4. Inspect the resulting evidence Inventory Supervisor

Inventory Supervisor checks the new balance and supported reconciliation result. Auditor follows the original movement, compensation and request history without expecting the earlier record to disappear. Record remaining discrepancies before treating the case as complete.

    • Explain correction and remaining differences
    • Updates Operation receipts, Review decisions, Stock movements

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Canceling a request is assumed to remove the stock effect already posted.
  • An operator edits the original signed quantity instead of using compensation.
  • A second reversal call changes the lot balance again.
  • Released reservations disappear from the history, leaving no explanation for restored availability.
