How the model is organised
Cost basis
Organizations, stock items, standard costs and distribution policies define ownership and effective rules.
Physical source
Purchase orders, goods receipts and receipt acceptances distinguish commitment, arrival and accepted stock.
Stock history
Stock events group stock movements; inventory positions hold the current balance and stock layers retain source value.
Operations
Stock transfers, work orders and inventory counts explain movement, output and observed differences.
Finance
Valuation runs, valuation lines, close tasks, journal entries and accounting periods carry reconciliation and close evidence.

- Organizations
Separate legal books and stock ownership; shared masters do not consolidate balances.
Linked to Currencies, Distribution policies - Stock items
Trade goods and assembly outputs; master values do not rewrite transactions.
Linked to Units of measure, Master changes - Standard costs
Entity/product standard per base unit with immutable effective versions.
Linked to Organizations, Stock items, Master changes - Distribution policies
Versioned operational and financial rules with explicit finite limits.
Linked to Organizations, Currencies, Users, Approval decisions - Master changes
Protected master activation without direct Manage permission bypass.
Linked to Organizations, Users, Approval decisions - Approval decisions
Authoritative human decisions independent of document lifecycle.
Linked to Users, Authority delegations, Exchange rates 2, Organizations
- Purchase orders
Immutable approved supplier commitments; cumulative amendments cannot bypass authority.
Linked to Organizations, Currencies, Exchange rates 2, Document revisions - Goods receipts
Immutable actual arrivals and separately accepted quantities.
Linked to Organizations, Document revisions, Integration events, Purchase orders - Goods receipt lines
Receipt history does not change as accepted inventory moves or is consumed.
Linked to Goods receipts, Purchase order lines, Locations, Standard costs - Receipt acceptances
Independent bounded disposition tranches against one immutable actual arrival.
Linked to Organizations, Integration events, Goods receipt lines, Standard costs - Stock events
One immutable group of stock movements and the associated journal effect.
Linked to Journal entries, Stock events, Organizations, Integration events - Stock movements
Signed position/layer legs; transfers balance quantity and value by SKU.
Linked to Stock events, Inventory positions, Stock layers, Stock reservations - Stock layers
Remaining quantity/carrying value with receipt/output/return lineage.
Linked to Organizations, Inventory positions, Stock items, Stock events - Inventory positions
Current owned stock by complete identity and custody state; provenance is not a second balance.
Linked to Organizations, Stock items, Storage locations, Locations
- Inventory positions
Current owned stock by complete identity and custody state; provenance is not a second balance.
Linked to Organizations, Stock items, Storage locations, Locations - Stock layers
Remaining quantity/carrying value with receipt/output/return lineage.
Linked to Organizations, Inventory positions, Stock items, Stock events - Stock events
One immutable group of stock movements and the associated journal effect.
Linked to Journal entries, Stock events, Organizations, Integration events - Stock movements
Signed position/layer legs; transfers balance quantity and value by SKU.
Linked to Stock events, Inventory positions, Stock layers, Stock reservations - Stock reservations
Exclusive bounded demand claims through picking and owned transit.
Linked to Organizations, Integration events, Inventory positions, Stock layers - Stock transfers
Same-entity transfer with actual dispatch/partial receipt and retained owned transit.
Linked to Organizations, Document revisions, Approval decisions, Storage locations - Stock transfer lines
Partial transfer quantities retain equal in-transit ownership and cost.
Linked to Stock transfers, Stock items, Locations
- Work orders
Released bounded assembly/kitting/repacking, without plant APS or payroll scope.
Linked to Sales order lines, Users, Organizations, Document revisions - BO ms
Effective distribution assembly/repacking recipes with explicit output basis.
Linked to Master changes, Organizations, Stock items - BOM lines
Component quantities per explicit output basis, preserving dimensions and allowed loss.
Linked to BO ms, Stock items - Work order materials
Frozen required input and actual traced issue/return scope.
Linked to Work orders, BOM lines, Stock items, Stock reservations - Production entries
Actual operation throughput, scrap and labour evidence; intermediate counts do not sum to output.
Linked to Organizations, Integration events, Work order operations, Users - Production completions
Accepted terminal output and WIP cost allocation, once per actual completed scope.
Linked to Organizations, Integration events, Approval decisions, Work orders - Work order cost entries
Immutable WIP debit/credit sources and bounded actual-cost allocation.
Linked to Organizations, Integration events, Work orders, Work order materials - Standard costs
Entity/product standard per base unit with immutable effective versions.
Linked to Organizations, Stock items, Master changes - Stock layers
Remaining quantity/carrying value with receipt/output/return lineage.
Linked to Organizations, Inventory positions, Stock items, Stock events
- Inventory counts
Blind scoped counts with explicit review and cost before adjustment.
Linked to Organizations, Approval decisions, Storage locations, Document revisions - Count locks
Time-bounded counted scope protecting all identities, including newly appearing positions.
Linked to Organizations, Inventory counts, Storage locations - Count lines
Observed base quantity and signed variance against an unchanged locked population.
Linked to Inventory counts, Inventory positions, Users, Stock events - Inventory positions
Current owned stock by complete identity and custody state; provenance is not a second balance.
Linked to Organizations, Stock items, Storage locations, Locations - Stock events
One immutable group of stock movements and the associated journal effect.

Linked to Users, Authority delegations, Exchange rates 2, Organizations
- Close tasks
Current source reconciliation evidence for an entity cutoff.
Linked to Organizations, Accounting periods, Users - Valuation runs
Delta remeasurement of entity monetary balances after reconciliation, not presentation consolidation.
Linked to Organizations, Document revisions, Approval decisions, Accounting periods - Valuation lines
One remaining monetary source, not both detail and its control total.
Linked to Valuation runs, Currencies, Exchange rates 2 - Exchange rates 2
Immutable dated conversion evidence; no hidden fallback.
Linked to Organizations, Currencies, Users - Accounting periods
Entity-specific fiscal periods and guarded close.
Linked to Organizations, Approval decisions - Journal entries

Authoritative human decisions independent of document lifecycle.
Linked to Users, Authority delegations, Exchange rates 2, Organizations
Keys and references
An entity owns each period, valuation run and stock position. A receipt acceptance points to its original receipt line. A stock event groups signed position and layer movements under one source action. A valuation line points to its run, monetary source, currency and rate. Decision references preserve the human authority used to release a controlled change.
Migration order
- Load entities, currencies, users, products, units and warehouse locations.
- Set effective costs, policies, accounts and required master approvals.
- Load supplier commitments and actual receipt history with accepted tranches.
- Establish stock positions, source layers, movements and any open transit.
- Reconcile counts, journals, monetary sources and period tasks before cutover.
