How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Kitting & Assembly for your business. Begin with one kit, its bill and route, a warehouse, one dealer order and a small build through shipment.

Can a kit have a changed component recipe?

Yes. Bills have versions and effective dates. A released build keeps its selected bill and routing basis; use a reviewed version for later work.

How do we know whether components are actually available?

Inventory positions distinguish on-hand, reserved and available quantity by item and location. Receipt acceptance separates usable stock from an arrival still under review.

Can we make part of a planned build?

Yes. Production entries record actual work and completions can record accepted output for a portion of the build. The remaining scope and variance stay visible.

What happens to unused components?

Work order materials retain required, issued, returned and consumed quantities. A return records the unused quantity with its stock movement history.

Who releases a build?

Warehouse Manager reviews the work order’s output product, bill, route, standard, quantity and evidence. The release decision is retained separately from the draft.

Does an operation entry create finished stock?

A reviewed completion posts accepted terminal output to stock. Operation entries remain the evidence of work, good quantity, scrap and labour.

Can we trace a kit back to a dealer order?

A build can link to an order line. Shipment lines also point to order lines and the claimed finished stock, preserving the fulfillment path.

How are delivery exceptions recorded?

A delivery attempt records the visit. Its results allocate accepted, refused, failed or damaged quantities to shipment lines for follow-up.

How do we explain a build cost variance?

Work order cost entries retain material, labour, overhead and completion relief. The completion compares allocated actual work in process with standard output value and records the variance.
