Who it's for

Promotional packs

Promotional packs often change their insert or outer packaging between campaigns. A versioned bill and routing keep each released build tied to the instruction set it used. Sales can follow the dealer's accepted quantity, while the warehouse sees whether components are accepted, reserved, issued or still needed.

How Kitting & Assembly is set up for you

Campaign version

Effective bill dates and version numbers distinguish the pack assembled this week from a later revision.

Order basis

A linked dealer order line explains the requested quantity and promised date.

Supply gap

Purchase orders and actual receipt acceptance separate expected components from usable units.

Floor evidence

Production entries record good packs, scrap and labour at each assigned operation.

Output check

A reviewed completion posts only accepted terminal output to stock.

Promotional packs often change their insert or outer packaging between campaigns. A versioned bill and routing keep each released build tied to the instruction set it used. Sales can follow the dealer's accepted quantity, while the warehouse sees whether components are accepted, reserved, issued or still needed.

Choose one pack whose artwork or insert is about to change. Define the current kit stock item, bill lines and route. Prepare a small build and release it against the current version. Then prepare the next version for future work without editing the released build. This lets the team explain which insert went into each completed run.

Use a receipt with a rejected tranche to test supply visibility. A supplier may deliver the requested number of cartons, but only accepted inserts should support the reservation. If the run has scrap, the operator records it against the operation and the manager reviews the actual completed quantity. The dealer shipment should draw from that accepted output rather than planned output.

Before the campaign starts, agree who changes the bill and who approves build release. Record where components are staged and where finished packs become available for picking. Purchasing Manager should rehearse a late component arrival; Sales Representative should rehearse a split dealer shipment. [Component supply](/kitting-assembly/modules/component-supply) describes the stock handoff, and [assembly execution](/kitting-assembly/modules/assembly-execution) describes the floor evidence.
