Prepare the first operating cycle
Create a patient with a patient number and assigned clinician. Schedule an encounter, record consent for the relevant purpose and check the clinician privilege evidence. Add a specimen to the encounter with its type, collection time and accession number. Have a second person find the specimen and confirm the linked visit.
Review before release
Run a rejected specimen and an awaiting-review encounter through the pilot. Confirm the clinician can update specimen and clinical evidence, the reviewer can inspect it, and the coordinator can record the visit state. Agree how staff hand off the accession to any analytical or reporting process used by the laboratory before relying on that process.
