Assembly cells
Assembly teams often find the same problems during shift handover: tools are difficult to locate, bench arrangements vary, and improvement ideas lose their owner after the initial discussion. Lean Manufacturing Tools gives the Quality Manager a way to organize 5S observations and carry an owned proposal through review. Inspection evidence and corrective work provide a separate response when the observed problem affects an inspected subject.
How Lean Manufacturing Tools is set up for you
Bench conditions
Use a scoped audit to record tool placement and workplace observations by 5S category. Keep the maximum score visible so the team understands the basis of the result.
Small changes
Capture an area, problem and proposed change for a named owner. The Improvement Reviewer decides whether the work may proceed and checks its outcome before closure.
Repeatable methods
Maintain the revised instruction with its version and effective date when an accepted change affects how the cell works. Record personal acknowledgments against the intended document.

Lean Manufacturing Tools gives the Quality Manager a way to organize 5S observations and carry an owned proposal through review. Inspection evidence and corrective work provide a separate response when the observed problem affects an inspected subject.
Begin with a cell where the Quality Manager and Inspector can walk the area together. Choose a tool-access problem, agree the scoring scale and record an audit observation. Assign a finding where a response is needed, then carry a related Kaizen proposal through approval and implementation.
During verification, ask the owner to demonstrate the new arrangement during normal work. Have the reviewer return to the original problem before accepting the result. If the arrangement changes a work instruction, rehearse the document release and acknowledgment handoff as well.
Keep the first cycle narrow enough that each participant can explain their decision and locate its evidence. Use the [implementation phases](/lean-manufacturing-tools/implementation) to agree ownership and access before expanding to other cells. Production orders and material handling can remain coordinated through the customer's existing operating systems.
