Keys and references

The parent matter link is the main join for holds, deadlines, documents, evidence, reviews and receipts. A hold also links to its organization. Review decisions records the source revision and operation key; operation receipts records the expected revision and resulting references. Use these values to check that a decision and an effect refer to the same case. Compare the hold and operation before acting, especially when a matter has several holds. Team members links assigned work and reviewer identity to the organization and user record.

Migration order

  1. Organizations and people. Prepare Organizations, Clients, Users and team members with stable identifiers.
  2. Matters. Import the matter record, owner and counterparty before child records.
  3. Preservation work. Bring in custodian holds, review decisions and operation receipts with their parent links and revisions.
  4. Supporting history. Add matter deadlines, matter events, legal documents, record attachments and document productions.
  5. Restricted identities. Import restricted subjects, access grants and disclosure events under the agreed access policy.
