How a Legal Practice Management rollout works

Prepare firm records, test human decisions and release matter work in a controlled cycle.

  1. Choose a pilot

Select a practice area and a real class of prospective matter with a conflict review, a deadline and a document handoff.

  2. Set up people and context

Add the organization, clients, users and Team Members. Agree who submits, reviews, owns and administers each step.

  3. Load matter history

Bring in the matter, intake and linked evidence in [data-model order](/legal-practice-management/data-model). Check record numbers and references.

  4. Rehearse decisions

Test clear, conflict and more-information outcomes, an independent engagement decision and a reviewed correction.

  5. Rehearse execution

Enter a counsel-verified deadline, review a document revision, record a production and retain its recipient receipt.

  6. Review release

Reconcile operation outcomes against persisted records and check that the team can explain completion from the matter timeline.

What the customer provides

Provide current clients, organization and staff records, a matter numbering rule, the people authorized for each review and a sample of accepted engagement evidence. Bring one court or contract source, one document file with its revision and a sample recipient receipt. Agree the boundary between this matter record and any court, delivery or accounting system the firm will connect.

Changing it afterwards

As practice areas expand, repeat the same decision rehearsal with their owners and source material. Keep earlier accepted records when scope changes and attach successor evidence through review and operation receipts. A new integration should be checked against the same question: can a second reviewer identify the source, decision, effect and receipt from the matter? Start with an account when the pilot team is ready.
