Benefit administration
Benefit operations deal with two distinct paths. A claim begins with a reported loss; a maturity case begins with a policy benefit review. Both need a policy link, current evidence and a decision owner. Keeping their records separate makes it easier to see why a payment or submission occurred.
How Life Insurance Management is set up for you
Reported loss
Preserve loss date, report date, claimed amount and evidence on the claim.
Authorized decision
Record approval, decline or evidence request with the claim decision and reason.
Verified payment
Match the provider event to the approved decision before settlement.
Maturity revision
Submit a Draft benefit review only when the expected revision still matches.
Benefit operations deal with two distinct paths. A claim begins with a reported loss; a maturity case begins with a policy benefit review. Both need a policy link, current evidence and a decision owner. Keeping their records separate makes it easier to see why a payment or submission occurred.
Start with one issued policy and its coverage terms. Create a reported claim with clear loss evidence, then assess it. Have a separate underwriter examine the benefit amount and decision. For a case approved for payment, compare the verified provider amount with the authorized benefit and confirm settlement left an operation receipt. Use another reported claim to rehearse a reasoned refusal or evidence request, keeping it distinct from a paid case.
For maturity, prepare a Draft review with the policy reference, maturity date, benefit and beneficiary evidence. Submit the current revision, then repeat the exercise with a changed Draft revision. The failed receipt should show why the older version did not advance. The Operations Overview page helps a supervisor find pending decisions and failed operations; the saved claim and maturity screens give the team the underlying detail.
Agree who supplies provider payment confirmation and beneficiary evidence. Keep those external facts linked to the case the underwriter actually reviewed. Auditor should be able to reconstruct the path without changing the underlying decision.
