How a Log Management & Analysis rollout works
Set up one service response path before expanding the register.
Name service owners
Record the services, people and users who will run the pilot.
Register the source
Enter a representative stream, source endpoint and retention days for a service.
Rehearse triage
Capture a query alert with a defined window and move it through acknowledgment.
Rehearse response
Open an assigned incident, add an update and record acknowledgment and resolution times.
Review decisions
Prepare a change with risk and rollback plan, then test approval, implementation and verification.
Check connections
Inspect the receipt created by stream registration and confirm its external event identifier can be traced.
What the customer provides
Bring the service register, owners, asset tags, source endpoint details, retention policy and alert query examples. Name the people who decide on changes and service requests. Provide a representative incident and planned change for rehearsal. The observability team should explain how raw logs and query execution will connect to these operating records.
Changing it afterwards
When a service changes owner or a stream moves source, update the service and stream records before new alert reviews. Revisit query definitions and retention settings with the operating team. Keep completed incidents and receipts available for the review of past decisions, and rehearse a changed approval path before using it in live service work.
