Who it's for

Private fleet operations

A private fleet has to commit real people and equipment to each load interval. The Load Assignment connects a load to one Driver and one Vehicle between its start and end times. Drivers carry active state, eligibility end date and an external authority reference. Vehicles carry equipment class, capacity and readiness. Vehicle Defects give the Fleet Coordinator a record of severity, repair evidence and release time when equipment is not ready for dispatch.

How Logistics Tracking System is set up for you

Eligibility

Check that the assigned driver remains eligible through the operating interval, not merely active at the moment of planning.

Readiness

Match the load's equipment class with a ready vehicle and inspect a held or maintenance vehicle before choosing it.

Capacity

The vehicle records capacity in pounds; obtain the load weight before using it for a fit decision.

Intervals

Keep held and confirmed assignments in the schedule so the same driver or vehicle is not committed to overlapping work.

Start with a single dispatch group, a few active Drivers and Vehicles, and one route with two Load Stops. Fleet Coordinator enters eligibility dates and vehicle readiness, then Dispatcher creates a Held assignment with a clear interval. Review other commitments before changing that assignment to Confirmed. The Dispatcher approves the checked route against the load revision the team intends to dispatch. The Dispatcher records physical pickup before advancing the load.

Test an equipment interruption in the same exercise. Report a Vehicle Defect with severity and repair evidence; keep its release time distinct from the first report. Revisit the load assignment if the selected vehicle moves to Maintenance. Once a replacement interval is feasible, the team can review the changed scope and continue. Agree where current authority and fleet state come from, since those external facts need a deliberate connection and a named person to check them.
