Keys and references

Preserve the source identifiers when matching imported records. Asset tag, serial number and part number help people check identity, but the reference links must point to the intended records. Do not assume a repeated display name identifies the same machine or person.

Resolve the signed-in account through People.User before comparing an assigned person with the current user. Keep the preventive plans.Supersedes chain intact when importing reviewed revisions. Newly created orders receive a linked order master entry through source-record matching; use work orders and purchase orders for subsequent operating changes.

Migration order

  1. Establish Users and People, verifying each User reference and active person.
  2. Import Assets and spare parts with checked equipment identities and part units.
  3. Import preventive plans and condition readings against the correct Asset, preserving plan revision links and measurement times.
  4. Import work orders and purchase orders with their required asset and person context.
  5. Attach safety permits, work logs, part usage and service history to the intended work orders and assets.
  6. Reconcile order master source links separately for historical orders before relying on the combined register.
