How do I get started?
Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Marine Insurance System for your business. Begin with one insurer organization, a known assured, a reviewed policy and a representative cargo loss.
Who prepares a policy?
Insurance Coordinator records the policy owner, assured, terms and supporting evidence before submitting the current revision.
Who decides whether a policy can be issued?
Authorized Underwriter independently reviews the submitted policy revision. The carrier issue action retains its own result and identifier.
Can a returned policy be corrected?
Yes. Keep the return reason and submit the corrected revision for a new underwriter decision.
How do cargo surveys relate to claims?
A cargo survey records shipment damage against a policy. A claim separately records the reported loss and insurer decision against that policy.
What makes a claim approved?
An authorized claim decision records Approve and the approved benefit. A reasoned decline or request for evidence follows a different path.
When is a claim settled?
Settlement follows a unique verified payment event against the approved decision and claim.
Is a policy issue the same as a premium receipt?
No. The policy retains carrier issuance evidence; a separate verified premium receipt records collection.
How are failed carrier actions handled?
Open the exception receipt, compare its expected revision and external references with the carrier result, then record completion or a discrepancy.
Can an auditor trace a decision?
Auditor can read authorized policy, review, claim, payment and receipt evidence within the configured access scope.
