Local food storefront
A local food storefront can use the same order records whether a buyer selects delivery or an available pickup shipping method. Catalogs separate the market context. Products and variants define what customers buy; carts show intent; meal orders give staff a stable record after checkout. The team can keep a customer conversation tied to the purchase rather than to a current product listing.
How Meal Prep / Subscription Box is set up for you
Selling context
Merchant Owner checks catalog currency, locale and available checkout options for the local market.
Buyable choices
Catalog Manager maintains the product and variant that appear in the cart and meal line.
Customer path
Store sessions, carts and abandoned carts help Marketing Manager see where buyers leave before purchase.
Fulfillment position
Warehouse Operator compares order lines with variant stock and records the actual handoff event.

Choose one service area and define the catalog that serves it. Create a few representative products, including a variant with a different price or weight. Check the shipping method intended for the area, then place a customer cart and order. Confirm that the order points to the right address, selected method and purchased lines. A pickup choice should still be treated according to the shipping method and recorded fulfillment event actually selected.
Marketing Manager can review a small campaign by comparing session source with converted carts. Customer Service Rep can inspect an abandoned cart only after distinguishing it from a completed order. If a buyer asks about a missed promotion, Applied Discounts shows what was actually applied; Discount Rules shows the offer's terms. Finance Manager can then answer whether a monetary adjustment is appropriate.
A good first rehearsal includes one ordinary purchase and one order with an exception. Have each owner describe what they will check before acting: catalog context for Merchant Owner, sellable variant for Catalog Manager, stock and event for Warehouse Operator, and payment position for Finance Manager.
