Multi-warehouse distribution
Several warehouses hold separate stock positions for one legal entity and transfer owned quantity between them. The commercial promise, physical movement and financial result should each retain their own source. That gives every team a useful handoff when a delivery, receipt or payment happens in parts.
How Music Rights Management is set up for you
Commercial work
Sales Representative prepares dealer offers and orders; Sales Manager makes the independent acceptance decision.
Physical work
Warehouse Manager controls stock scope and releases assigned work; Warehouse Operator records actual quantity and delivery evidence.
Financial work
Accountant prepares bills, invoices and reconciliations; Finance Manager makes the independent financial decisions.
Several warehouses hold separate stock positions for one legal entity and transfer owned quantity between them. The commercial promise, physical movement and financial result should each retain their own source. That gives every team a useful handoff when a delivery, receipt or payment happens in parts.
Set the legal entity, warehouse and location structure first. Rehearse a reserved dealer order, a same-entity transfer, partial destination receipt and count review. Keep transit and available stock distinct so a delayed transfer does not become an apparent shortage or duplicate stock.
Review the exception path with the same case. If the quantity, destination or amount changes after approval, the current revision needs the relevant decision. Preserve completed work while the remaining portion moves through its next step. Check that each person sees only their assigned entity and work. Then use [implementation](/music-rights-management/implementation) to widen the operating scope and [reports](/music-rights-management/reports) to compare commitments with actual results.
Choose a transfer with a late second receipt. The source warehouse should lose only dispatched quantity, while the destination gains only what it actually received. Ask the Warehouse Manager to review the transit remainder before another pick uses either position.
