Connections to set up

Agree the source, identity and retry rules before connecting external operating systems.

Systems to connect

  • Machine counters. Set up a connection when automated readings are required. Map machine identity to the resource and window, and agree how incoming run time and unit counts relate to the operator’s observation convention.
  • Maintenance system. Connect repair follow-up when downtime reasons need work outside the production team. Decide who maintains resource readiness while the repair is managed in that system.
  • Quality system. Connect external inspection results when they inform the reviewer’s output decision. Keep the person authorizing release and the batch disposition explicit at the production handoff.
  • Accounting or inventory system. Set up an agreed exchange for stock and purchasing information when another system needs the production result. Establish which system owns opening balances and how duplicate messages are recognized.

How connections are governed

Admin and Production Planner agree the source of each imported value before enabling a connection. Use stable resource, item and lot mappings, and test the time zone and unit interpretation with a complete rehearsal period. Keep credentials in the integration’s secure configuration.

Define how a failed message is retried and how a corrected reading affects an existing review. Confirm stock posting outcomes before retrying through another route. Quality Reviewer retains the acceptance decision when external results inform output release; a successful data transfer does not settle that decision.
