Capture run evidence

Record attributed production, window observations and the stops that explain the run.

Step by step

  1. Identify the run Production Operator

Production Operator checks the released work order, product and resource with Production Planner. Select the intended production window before entering an observation or downtime interval.

    • Establish the correct operating context
    • Updates Work orders, Planned production windows, Resources
  2. Record production Production Operator

Production Operator enters the production interval and good and scrap units. The guarded recording action validates the log, attributes it to the acting person, advances eligible work to In Progress and creates the initial batch once.

    • Attribute output and create the initial batch once
    • Updates Production logs, People, Work orders, Batches
  3. Capture the observation Production Operator

Production Operator records run minutes, total units and good units against the window with an observation time. Follow the agreed reading convention so the reviewer knows whether the count covers the full period.

    • Record run minutes and unit counts
    • Updates OEE observations, Planned production windows
  4. Explain the stops Production Operator or Production Planner

Production Operator records stop intervals, reasons and whether each stop was planned. Production Planner reviews unclear classifications and intervals that cross the window boundary.

    • Add timing and reason evidence
    • Updates Downtime intervals, Planned production windows
  5. Prepare the evidence handoff Production Planner

Production Planner identifies the observation for Quality Reviewer and checks whether timing questions remain. Keep unresolved explanations visible for the coverage discussion.

    • Identify evidence for the review
    • Updates OEE observations, Downtime intervals

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • An observation covers a partial run while the reviewer expects a completed window.
  • Production counts use a different unit from the agreed ideal-cycle basis.
  • Overlapping stop intervals inflate the explanation of elapsed downtime.
