Department store buying
A department store can place an order for an apparel style across several colors and sizes. Order Desk checks the ship-to address on the buying account and records the buyer, bill-to account and requested date on the order. Each variant gets its own line with units and wholesale unit price. The buyer's fit and return notes stay on the account so support can use them later without changing the order line.
How Apparel and Footwear OMS is set up for you
Assortment decisions
Admin checks the season and promotion standing on each active style variant before the order desk selects it.
Commercial review
Order Reviewer examines the size mix, line prices, promotion code and current revision before recording a reasoned decision.
Channel trace
Order Desk links the retail handoff to the source order and records the external reference returned by the connected channel.
Movement evidence
Fulfillment Lead reads shipment events by units, date and location; Reconciliation Analyst compares them with payment evidence and receipts.

Start with one retail organization, one buying account and a limited assortment of sizes for a single style. Capture an order with separate bill-to and account records if that reflects the buying arrangement. Confirm the calculated net USD value, review the exact revision, allocate the lines and release the Approved order. Then compare the Shipped events with the line units. Record a channel handoff reference only when the connected channel returns one.
Use a second order to rehearse a stock shortage in one size. The exception should point back to that order and have a support owner. The reviewer can inspect the affected line and the exception before deciding whether the order scope should change. If a later return or exchange is recorded, keep it as a separate event; do not overwrite the original shipment. This gives the store and the order team a common order number for follow-up.
