How the model is organised

Customer orders:

Customer orders, order lines, Customers, Products. A customer order holds the request; lines carry product, unit price, lot and best-by detail.

Order review:

Review decisions, operation receipts, record attachments. Decisions belong to the order revision, while receipts and attachments preserve supporting evidence.

Fulfillment:

Fulfillment events, cold chain handoffs. Events record the work and handoffs carry the carrier context.

Cold-chain operations:

Cold chain exceptions, fulfillment events. Exceptions connect a condition or delivery issue to the affected order.

Payments:

Payment evidence, customer orders. Capture and refund evidence stays with the order it concerns.

Organization:

Organizations, team members, Users. Staff and organizational identity supply ownership context.

Keys and references

Customer orders is the parent of lines, fulfillment events, handoffs, payment evidence, decisions, receipts and exceptions. Keep its record number and revision stable when moving records from another system. Order lines refers to Products; the order refers to both the paying and receiving Customers. A team members owner links work to a Users identity. Preserve provider and carrier references when they are available.

Do not flatten a saved list into another table. Open Customer Orders and Orders Awaiting Review are views of customer orders; the exception, payment, receipt and fulfillment lists are views of their respective source records.

Migration order

  4. Load review decisions, cold chain handoffs, fulfillment events and cold chain exceptions with their original order links.
