Who it's for

Local delivery operations

Local delivery work crosses an important boundary: releasing an approved basket is different from confirming that goods reached the recipient. The app records the release as line events and a fulfillment receipt, while later delivery activity is captured as its own event. A handoff records the fulfillment channel, store, status and any provider reference.

How OMS for Grocery and Supermarkets is set up for you

Prepare the order

Check the delivery recipient, address and promised date before the order is approved.

Release the basket

Use the approved order to create Out for Delivery events and a receipt for the run.

Record the actual event

Add delivered or failed event evidence with the observed time and quantity.

Follow exceptions

Assign address issues, late deliveries or damaged items and retain a resolution.

Local delivery work crosses an important boundary: releasing an approved basket is different from confirming that goods reached the recipient. The app records the release as line events and a fulfillment receipt, while later delivery activity is captured as its own event. A handoff records the fulfillment channel, store, status and any provider reference.

Choose one local delivery route or curbside flow at a store. Capture and review an order with two basket lines. Release it and check the generated events, Picked lines and Completed order. Record the channel handoff and a later Delivered event. Then rehearse a missed delivery and raise an exception with an assigned associate. Store Operations Manager should be able to see the issue in the open queue while Customer Service Associate can explain the event trail to the shopper.

Agree how external driver or delivery-provider updates will be matched to order and handoff references. The provider's route and proof system remains its own source for its actions; the order record is where the grocery team keeps the order decision and local evidence. Decide what supporting document to attach for delivery proof and how a completed order correction is escalated.
