Who it's for

Multichannel order teams

A team receiving orders through several channels needs a stable internal order identity. The customer order keeps the channel and owner visible, while a channel handoff records the external destination, reference and handoff status. This lets operations discuss the same request with the customer and partner without confusing the partner's order ID with the internal number.

How Order Management System is set up for you

Internal record

Order Desk Agent captures the customer, counterparty, lines, required date and channel on the order.

Review boundary

Order Reviewer records a decision for the current revision before the order proceeds.

Partner handoff

Order Operations Manager records the channel, external order ID and handoff status.

Follow-up

A rejected handoff and an order exception can be traced back to the original customer order.

A team receiving orders through several channels needs a stable internal order identity. The customer order keeps the channel and owner visible, while a channel handoff records the external destination, reference and handoff status. This lets operations discuss the same request with the customer and partner without confusing the partner's order ID with the internal number.

Choose one channel and a small product range for the first operating cycle. Agree how its external order ID is received and who enters it on the handoff. Enter a customer order, confirm it for review and record an Approved decision. Then create a channel handoff and follow it through the partner response.

Rehearse a rejected handoff. Operations should see its Rejected status and the partner reference, assign an issue owner and decide whether the order itself needs correction. The handoff's status is distinct from the order's status, so the team must inspect both. Keep the reason for correction in the order decision, receipt or exception rather than in a chat message alone.

Before adding more channels, settle customer-code and SKU mapping with each partner. Decide who owns the order when the partner accepts the handoff and who confirms shipment evidence. External channel delivery remains an integration choice; the handoff record is the internal trace of that exchange.
