Pallet pooling teams

Pallet pooling work depends on knowing which unit is held by whom and where it was last recorded. The handling-unit record carries a pallet code, custody owner, location, quantity, item and current status. A team can mark a unit In Transit, Staged, Loaded, Available, Held or Damaged as physical work progresses. A linked stock request gives context when the same event also requires a stock operation.

How Pallet Tracking System is set up for you

Custody check

At a pickup or return, the clerk reads the pallet code and current custody owner before updating the unit's record from the physical handoff.

Load context

Loads record carrier, dock door and seal details; sequenced stops record appointment time and location. Staff can compare those load details with the handling-unit record when a carrier arrives.

Reviewed stock work

Inventory Supervisor decides a request revision. An approved request can execute a posted movement and leave an operation receipt; the posted movement changes the lot balance.

A team can mark a unit In Transit, Staged, Loaded, Available, Held or Damaged as physical work progresses. A linked stock request gives context when the same event also requires a stock operation.

Choose a small set of pooled units with distinct codes and named custody owners. Set up the locations where they are received, staged and loaded. Add a load and a stop for a real appointment, then link a handling unit to the request that governs its stock action. The clerk should be able to identify the unit and its floor location before the supervisor approves the request.

Rehearse a returned unit whose physical status differs from the expected load stage. Staff update the handling-unit record when the handoff is observed, and they use the request and receipt trail to understand any inventory effect. Include a Damaged unit so the team agrees who checks it and how it remains visible for the next shift. This gives the pooling desk a practical register while the movement ledger records stock postings.
