Reversal and reconciliation

Correct a posted effect and verify request completion with retained evidence.

Step by step

  1. Find the source Inventory Supervisor

Inventory Supervisor opens an Executed request and its Posted movement.

    • Identifies executed work
    • Updates Stock requests, Stock movements
  2. Compare quantity Inventory Supervisor

The supervisor compares authorized requested units with the total of posted movements for that request.

    • Checks authorized against posted quantity
    • Updates Stock requests, Stock movements
  3. Verify or fail Inventory Supervisor

Matching totals produce a Verified operation receipt; mismatch produces a Failed receipt and leaves the request unchanged.

    • Records verification or failure
    • Updates Operation receipts
  4. Reverse when required Inventory Supervisor

The supervisor reverses the original Posted movement by posting a compensating movement.

    • Posts compensation linked to original
    • Updates Stock movements
  5. Correct balance Inventory Supervisor

The compensation changes the lot on-hand balance while the original posting stays in the ledger.

    • Adjusts lot balance from compensation
    • Updates Stock lots, Stock movements
  6. Review evidence Auditor

Auditor traces the original, compensation, request and receipts.

    • Preserves trace for audit
    • Updates Stock requests, Stock movements, Operation receipts
