Multispecialty practices
A practice with several clinical disciplines needs to know which clinician owns each patient interaction and which professional privilege applies. Patient Portal links staff records to user accounts, captures specific privilege types and stores dated verification evidence. Care-team assignments explain why a clinician is connected to a patient and for how long. Encounters then carry the actual visit, notes and observations.
How Patient Portal is set up for you
Clinician onboarding
The governance administrator reviews license details, issuing authority, effective dates and evidence before a privilege is marked verified.
Patient handoff
A care-team assignment records a purpose and date range; an ended assignment remains distinct from an active one.
Visit review
The clinical reviewer examines the signed note, observations and any specialty evidence for the particular encounter.
Follow-up ownership
Care tasks name an assignee and due date, so work is visible when responsibility moves between teams.

Patient Portal links staff records to user accounts, captures specific privilege types and stores dated verification evidence. Care-team assignments explain why a clinician is connected to a patient and for how long. Encounters then carry the actual visit, notes and observations.
Choose one specialty team and a representative visit. Confirm each clinician has the right staff record and that governance staff can distinguish pending, verified and expired privilege states. Record one patient assignment, schedule the visit, and carry it through signed documentation and review. Then transfer the patient to another clinician and check that the earlier assignment is ended before the next visit is planned.
The practice should agree which privilege evidence its policy requires for each type of work. It should also define who decides clinical completion and how an amended note returns to review. Begin with those decisions and the corresponding records; expand to more specialty teams after the first handoff is reliable.
