Ambulatory care operations
An ambulatory care team often needs a quick picture of today's visits and the incoming specialty work that may become future appointments. The app keeps referrals and encounters distinct while linking both to patients. The Business Overview page shows encounter throughput, current encounter state, assigned clinician work and specialty referrals awaiting review. The worklist and schedule calendar let staff move from that summary into individual visits.
How Patient Referral Management is set up for you
Incoming demand
Have the Clinician submit referrals with receipt date, specialty and priority after checking their privilege and patient assignment, so staff can review them before arranging a visit.
Daily work
Use the encounter worklist to see scheduled, arrived and in-progress visits by patient and clinician.
Clinical record
Attach observations and attributed notes to the encounter that produced them, then check purpose-specific consent.
Later action
Assign patient care tasks and record referral follow-ups when a visit creates another coordination step.

Begin with one care team and a representative operating day. Enter a received referral, schedule an encounter for a reviewed case and walk it through arrival, documentation and completion. Record one task for a clinician, then have that Clinician add a follow-up to the selected referral. Ask a manager to find both from the available working views and explain which record represents the visit versus the later contact.
Set a convention for visit type, note type and observation units before wider adoption. If appointments or outside messages arrive from another service, define the source and ownership of that connection. Keep the clinician's user link, privilege and patient assignment current so the handoff from coordination to care can be reviewed.
