How a Penetration Test Management rollout works

Set up scope, evidence and review decisions in a short pilot.

  1. Choose the pilot

Select one authorized engagement, a named security lead and tester, and a testing window with clear targets.

  2. Prepare people

Set up access for the security lead, tester, inspection reviewer, corrective owner, effectiveness reviewer and auditor according to their work.

  3. Load source records

Enter the engagement scope and authorization document; prepare People and any inspection or audit records used in the pilot.

  4. Rehearse finding work

Record a finding, retain evidence, move it through remediation and retest, and review its final status.

  5. Rehearse quality review

Record a failed inspection check, review the inspection, link an issue and assess the completed corrective action independently.

  6. Release the cycle

Have each receiving role open the case and confirm it can understand the state, owner and supporting evidence.

What the customer provides

Bring the client name, authorized target text, testing dates and authorization document. Identify the people who will make review decisions. For inspection work, bring a small set of real requirements and examples of Pass, Fail and not applicable evidence. Include the document versions and audit scope used by the pilot team.

Changing it afterwards

Review changes to authorized targets or dates with the security lead before testers rely on them. Keep earlier finding evidence and failed check results when work advances. Rehearse role access and status changes again when the team changes its review procedure. Follow the data model when importing additional records.
