Consortium research programs

A consortium can coordinate research work across organizations while keeping each project and package tied to its owning organization. The project record identifies the funded counterparty; the package identifies the work and owner. The Operations Overview lets a program team inspect lifecycle, review backlog, hours and exceptions across organizations without losing the context of an individual case.

How Research Projects PM is set up for you

Organization context

Record each participating research unit with its code, time zone and active state.

Local ownership

Link team members to the right organization and platform user before placing them on packages.

Shared evidence

Use an explicit visibility choice for every attachment intended to travel beyond the preparing team.

Grant review

Put milestone submissions under their parent package and preserve the independent decision against the supporting revision.

Choose two participating organizations and one funded project within each. Create a work package for each project, with a member from the correct organization as owner. Rehearse a review on one package and a milestone submission on the other. Ask the coordinator to find both in the overview, then open each parent record to confirm its project, tasks, attachments and decisions. This makes the cross-organization view useful without treating similar project names as the same work.

Agree the time zone used in review handoffs and who checks an external grant reference. Define what Shared means for consortium evidence and who is allowed to make that choice. If the program uses an external authoritative source for operations, include its reference check in the operating procedure.
