How a Policy Management System rollout works
Set up one organization, assessment cycle and policy audience before expanding.
Establish ownership
Create the organization, business unit and team members. Assign the Control Owner, Independent Assurance Reviewer, App Administrator and Auditor.
Define the model
Name the risk scale, control codes, evidence visibility rule and policy version convention.
Run an assessment
Set a period and scope, record passing and failing tests, and follow the failed case into a finding.
Review and decide
Submit an assessment revision and a policy version for independent decisions. Record reasons and dates.
Reconcile
Check the corrective action and retest, then compare each operation receipt with the effects it expected.
What the customer provides
Provide the organization and unit list, team membership, current risks and controls, first assessment period, policy version convention, audience rule and evidence access policy. Identify the person who prepares work and the person who decides. Choose one case with a known exception so the review and remediation path can be rehearsed end to end.
Changing it afterwards
When scope or policy text changes, prepare a new revision and seek a new decision. Retain earlier decisions, tests and attachments as the history of what was reviewed. Review access when people change roles or move between organizations. Compare operation receipts to persisted effects before marking uncertain work completed.
