- Who it's for
- Container terminal operators
Container terminal operators
A container terminal operator needs a reliable connection between a freight load, the physical container movement and the people who reviewed it. The load carries the operating organization, owner and transport partner. The container move adds the yard slot, voyage, berth, move type, weight and custody state. A supervisor can then examine the submitted revision against the actual supporting evidence.
How Port & Terminal Management is set up for you
Yard activity
Record gate, discharge and load moves against the parent load so the terminal event can be found from the freight case.
Independent decision
The Transport Supervisor reviews the submitted move revision and records a reason for approval, rejection or return.
Release checks
Custody confirmation and customs hold are checked before the move reaches completion.
Outcome history
Operation receipts show the key, revision and result of a guarded action for later reconciliation.
Start with one operating organization, its regular transport partners and a small set of representative container movements. Use a gate entry and a discharge case with different yard slots. Attach the evidence the supervisor normally uses to compare container number, weight and completed time. Have the Dispatcher submit each case and a separate supervisor review the exact revision.
Include a hold case. The team should decide which authority supplies the hold state and how its resolution is communicated. Record the custody check on the move and keep any external confirmation with the load evidence. After completion, inspect the operation receipt before repeating a command or treating an uncertain effect as settled.
The first operating review should also compare the container move board with the physical yard process. Make sure the owner of each draft and submitted revision is clear. If a move changes after submission, send the changed work through review again.
